Owning Your Story Is Your Superpower
February, often a month of connection and reflection, is the perfect time to turn inward and ask:
Are you amplifying your voice in your career?
For many Women in STEM, self-promotion can feel uncomfortable or even inauthentic.
Sharing your achievements IS NOT bragging, it’s leadership.
It’s about showcasing your value, creating visibility in leadership pipelines, and inspiring others to do the same.
When we own our stories, we pave the way for others to step into their light.
Self-promoted individuals are 23% more likely to advance in their careers—not because they’re louder, but because they’re clear, confident, and authentic about their contributions.
Mastering the Art of Self-Promotion
Here are 3 ways to highlight your achievements authentically:
Reframe Self-Promotion as Storytelling
Instead of listing accomplishments, share the story behind them. What challenge did you overcome? What impact did your work have? Stories resonate.Celebrate Small Wins Regularly
Don’t wait for big milestones to share your success. Regularly reflecting on and sharing your progress builds confidence and keeps your achievements visible.Support Others While Promoting Yourself
Uplift colleagues by recognizing their contributions while highlighting your own role in collaborative successes. This creates a culture of mutual support and authenticity.

Can you believe January flew by so quickly?
For me, it’s been a month of small wins that align perfectly with my 2025 mantra: #Amplify my voice. I had the opportunity to be a guest on two podcasts, where I shared my leadership journey and personal story featured in my first collaboration book, Evolution of Leadership in STEM – Women Catalyzing Change. I also reflected on my career path and the experiences that have shaped my current work as an entrepreneur and Executive Coach.
